Existing Franchise Owner Will Open Archway Site
Kearney, NE (Restaurant News Release) Dickey’s Barbecue is building momentum in Nebraska. Existing franchise owner, Richard Cochran, will open two new locations in Kearney Island this summer. One of the new Kearney locations will be located in The Great Platte River Road Archway, which was named Nebraska’s Attraction of the Year in 2011.
“We are extremely excited about our hot growth in Nebraska,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “Nebraska has really embraced our slow smoked barbecue and we look forward to more locations throughout the state.”
Franchise owners Richard and Cheryl Cochran will operate both locations along with their Grand Island location. Prior to owning Dickey’s Barbecue, Richard worked for Schwan’s for 30 years and served as Vice President and Cheryl was a school administrator.
“The Museum actually came to us and we were excited about the opportunity to be in The Archway,” said franchise owner Cochran. “People in Kearney are already excited because there is nothing like this in the area.”
Cochran plan to host special events in The Archway as well as serve its many daily visitors as the only restaurant in museum. Both Kearney locations will be available to cater community events such as business luncheons and weddings.
